Our school workshop packages celebrate both cultural diversity and our common roots. While the children have fun creating music, visuals and dance from African, South American and Indian cultures they develop teamwork, thinking skills, coordination and concentration. Children learn best when they think they’re playing, our approach combines fun with education so everyone enjoys a Global Grooves adventure.
Our exciting and innovative school workshops have cross-curriculum relevance for children of all ages. We offer workshops for primary schools and secondary schools. Although they stand alone as rich musical experiences, all of our packages can be adapted to celebrate international days festivals and events.
We also offer music services including; instrument tuition, vocal lessons and music ensembles.
Global Grooves offers a range of workshop experiences across a variety of percussion that will have your pupils bobbing to beats from South Asia, Africa, The Caribbean and Brazil. Each culture offers something exciting and memorable from these rich and wonderful traditions and introduces your pupils to a wonderful menu of irresistible grooves, songs and moves.
Our team of dancers are highly trained specialists in world dance styles. We offer exciting and structured dance workshops in schools that will get even the most reserved pupils on their feet.
From dance packages designed specially to get boys dancing, to fun and high energy workshops to link with our carnival packages. Whatever styles of dance you would like to explore we have a workshop for you.
We offer a range of visual arts workshops including; Junk Jam, an award winning project using recycled materials to create a drumming, dance and arts spectacular that doesn’t ‘cost the earth.'
Modelling the vibrant Carnival cultures in Brazil, Trinidad, Cuba and Asia, these workshops involve everyone in music, dance, costume / mask-making and even circus skills. Your school will fizz with energy as your pupils collaborate to create a community celebration spectacular.
I’d never tried African dancing before, and enjoyed it so much! I liked it when the drummers played the intro call so we knew when to start, and then it was so exciting to dance to the drums!
I knew a little bit about Brazilian dance which I have passed on to the students, but it was brilliant to have experts on hand to ask questions and check I was on the right lines with my teaching!

I’d tried salsa once before (having watched something online!) so it was amazing to do the workshop with a real Cuban person who knew so much about the style. I want to do it again!

It was such a pleasure to work with the tutor. Having an authentic teacher working with our class was brilliant, and we could tell what a great time the children had given their huge smiles; they were tired afterwards!

I loved it so much I joined a local drumming group so I could keep doing it! I’d seen the group performing before, but hadn’t been brave enough to get in touch. Now I go every week to learn dance, thanks to being inspired by seeing something at school.
What a pleasure it was to work with the class today; so many ideas being shared and conversations happening!
That was brilliant! Can we do it all again?
This was obviously enjoyed by the students, everyone laughing and throwing themselves into it the entire time. The tutor spent some time with me at the end, and was happy to share some tips about how I could get a regular after school club going as so many of the girls wanted to do it again!
