Global Grooves 2012: summer of success!

Posted on: 15th October 2012

This summer, Junk Jam enjoyed two premier outings at the Manchester Day Parade in June and at the Manchester Jazz Festival in July. With over 100 performers, this outrageous and inspirational spectacle took to the Manchester streets to show off the hard work of Global Grooves’ volunteer and artist team. There is already the potential to tour Junk Jam in 2013… watch this space!

Our proudest achievement this year was the development of our dedicated Carnival Arts space in Tameside. Shared between Cabasa Carnival Arts, Global Grooves, and Bangdrum CIC, this space has already been inhabited by a giant dragonfly, an impressive Chinese Lion, dozens of Junk Jam creatures, and promises many more creations over the coming years!
