Posted on: 15th November 2021

We are excited to welcome Wardle Academy Brass Band to this years Creating Carnival production. Wardle will be working closely alongside our Musical Director, Jack Tinker, to create a brand new arrangement for the Queens Platinum Jubilee Pageant. The music will take influence from traditional brass band music, international carnival styles, Greater Manchester’s popular music history, blues and Jazz.

“We are honoured to be asked to play at the Queens Jubilee Pageant. We are feeling excited about what is to come and the head, staff, students and parents are thrilled!”  – Bradley McCulloch, Wardle Academy.

Wardle Academy inspires students to develop skills that will equip them for life. They learn to engage critically with music and are provided opportunities to participate in performance both inside and outside the classroom.

Their music department aims to develop a lasting curiosity, interest and enjoyment in the Creative and Performing Arts. As such, they offer programmes of study that provide students with opportunities to develop into successful, creative, reflective and active participants.

In addition to their curriculum success, Wardle Academy boasts an internationally renowned extra-curricular music programme. Students are taught by dedicated professional music tutors on a range of guitar, strings, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments.

Students are encouraged to join one of the various music ensembles to further progress their music studies and team based interaction. Our music groups have received a huge amount of praise for their talents, winning competitions both nationally and internationally.
