Volunteering

Do you have a passion for creativity but no outlet for your colourful expression? Well, The Vale may soon be your second home, as it is for so many. We are a centre for Carnival Arts’ based in Mossley, Tameside, where we make carnival in all shapes and forms. We are here to create, connect, and collaborate in North West England and beyond.

If this sounds like you, we are always looking for people with a little bit of spare time who would like to get involved. At The Vale there are a number of different ways to volunteer.

Whether you’re a creative individual with a passion for making carnival, or someone who has only seen one parade when they were 6, everyone is welcome to have a go. You’d be working alongside the leading carnival artists in the Northwest, learning skills, making and having fun at the same time.

We also have a live music programme with events every month or more. There are opportunities to get stuck in by volunteering on our box office or collecting glasses during our gigs. You get to come along to the gig for free and get to see the behind the scenes of how a grass roots music venue works.

We also have temporary volunteer roles which crop up from time to time, or if you’ve got some skills or interests that you’d like to explore whilst volunteering here, let us know and we’ll see if we can support your interests.
