Hannah O'Gorman, Arts Administrator

Arts Administrator

Hannah is a dynamic arts professional whose exceptional organisational skills and creative energy form the backbone of Global Grooves’ operations. As Arts Administrator, she ensures the smooth coordination of the organisation’s ambitious programmes, connecting all elements of its work and enabling the team to deliver transformative cultural projects in unison.

With a background in philosophy and a life-long passion for music, Hannah’s journey in the arts began during her university years, where she served as both a host and Station Manager at the university’s radio station. These experiences shaped her ability to blend creativity with logistics, paving the way for a multi-faceted career in the arts.

In 2020, Hannah founded Steam Radio in response to the isolation brought on by the lockdowns. Initially an online platform to keep people connected, it has since grown into a thriving community hub with a studio at The Old Abbey Taphouse in Hulme. Steam Radio now serves as a vibrant space for workshops, events, and collaborations, fostering an inclusive and creative community spirit.

Hannah’s professional expertise spans event programming, workshop facilitation, and music business. She is also a passionate DJ, curating the party series Nossa! to explore samba, jazz, disco, psych, and baile funk, connecting her to her Brazilian heritage. Her work includes hosting radio shows and organising an annual mini Brazilian Carnival, celebrating the rich cultural traditions of Brazil while engaging diverse audiences.

Hannah’s role at Global Grooves is integral to its mission of using the arts to empower communities. Her ability to manage complex activities with precision and creativity supports the delivery of large-scale cultural projects and grassroots initiatives alike. Her innovative thinking, collaborative approach, and dedication to inclusivity make her an invaluable member of the team, ensuring that Global Grooves continues to inspire and unite communities through the transformative power of the arts.
