Hi, I’m Oran, part of the FL 2021/22 cohort. I play Trumpet in a youth concert band, soul band and a samba based band called SambaYaBamba in Glasgow. I learned about Future Leaders from SambaYaBamba, as a few people have attended previously.
I’ve had the pleasure of travelling to Manchester to do these wonderful residential trips to meet other people who are interested in the same things as me.
It’s great having professionals who can teach me about styles of music that don’t usually reach the UK, learning about the cultural significance behind the music too. I feel like it is greatly beneficial to learn these styles of music to broaden our horizons.
Although learning the music and culture is important, I enjoy learning new techniques and skills that will help me throughout my life.
