In 2018, we were commissioned to create an illuminated parade taking place both nights of the festival after the headliner. Toni the fire bat and Bessie the dragon lit up the night sky as our robot drummers brought the beats to the masses. During the day, our artists led workshops in dance and choreography, mask making and music.
We were delighted to be asked back the following year where a big anniversary was set to be commemorated: fifty years since the moon landings. We got to work creating bespoke rocket and astronaut puppets, while our musicians and dancers were decked out as Mission Control. We received a commission to create a special ‘Moon Mill’ puppet, while our newly created Efe, the digital face that works in tandem with digital technology, made her way through the crowds.
We were set to make our return to Blue Dot in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made that an impossibility. Hopefully we’ll be rocketing back to Jodrell Bank in 2021.
