AFRO-BRAZILIAN DANCE AT THE VALE

This class is for anyone who is curious about Brazilian dance and culture. Come along and enjoy dancing to live music, and have fun in a Brazilian way! This class is perfect for beginners, improvers or more advanced dancers.

Afro- Brazilian dance fuses traditional rhythms and swing from all over Brazil. The participants will have an opportunity to explore dance styles such as Samba, Samba-Reggae, Maracatu, Frevo, Axe, coco, Maxixe, Caboclinho, Dance of orixas and other Brazilian dance fusion styles.

Tutor: Adriana Rosso

Adriana is an exceptional performer and choreographer with extensive knowledge of many different dance styles from around the globe. Originally from Sau Paulo, Brazil, she has studied with and worked as lead dancer and teacher for Meninos do Morumbi.

Now based in Manchester, UK, Adriana works for organisations Bangdrum CIC and Global Grooves, developing the music and dance scene in the North West and beyond. She has vast experience in working on large community projects and Carnivals including choreographies for all levels and ages.

A truly international artist, Adriana regularly teaches and performs all over the world, her most recent research and teaching trips include: The Gambia, Tokyo, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Thailand and New Zealand. Adriana’s talent, passion and energy for dance and movement is infectious and believes “It’s all about letting the rhythms move you and celebrating life in a Brazilian way!”
