This new short course boasts a snare-skills assault for those wanting to try their hand at caixa (Brazilian snare) or improve their sticking skills. The course tutor, Holly Prest (director of ‘Juba do Leão’), has studied extensively in Brazil, and has dedicated years of her playing career to perfecting the feel and flexibility of Brazilian stick drumming styles.
Rather than simply passing on a collection of new patterns, this course will encourage players of all levels to create their own work by offering fresh ideas for experienced players and by developing the technique of newer players. For maximum benefit to both beginners and more experienced players, the course will be delivered in two modules;
Beginners: Week 1 and 2 (maximum 15 participants)
Experienced: Week 3 and 4 (maximum 15 participants)
