Gain a deeper understanding of the arts industry behind-the-scenes through practical tasks that challenge and inspire you.

Design and deliver your own arts event and get hands-on experience as part of a new creative collective.

Look forward to future volunteering, placements, and employment opportunities with the organisations and artists involved in the course.

Who is the course for? 

For 16-24s living in Oldham, Rochdale, or Tameside

 

What’s included?

9-week evening course (in the town where you live)

4 arts + crew training days

4 hands-on event days

Follow up volunteering, placement, employment, and mentoring opportunities

 

Choose your session based on where you live:

Every Monday in Oldham (6:30-8:30pm) at The Old Museum

Every Tuesday in Rochdale (6:30-8:30pm) at Richard Street Studios

Every Wednesday in Tameside (6:30-8:30pm) at The Vale

To get involved, you would ideally be:

  • Based in Oldham, Rochdale, or Tameside
  • Aged 16-24
  • Looking to further your skills and knowledge of arts-based careers
  • Able to attend all or most of the sessions

We are particularly interested in supporting young people who either are neurodiverse, have no qualifications, not currently in work or education, or have faced barriers engaging elsewhere.

A note for parents/guardians:

All of our facilitators are DBS checked and are experienced in working with young people. Our venues have been chosen for their suitability for young people to feel at home, and/or have access to good transport links for the sessions. Young people will be supervised at all times. Travel expenses can be claimed back during the course. Our team will offer additional mentoring, volunteering experiences, and in some cases paid follow up work. The course will be an excellent addition to any school or college CV.

You'll get the opportunity to take part in music, dance, or visual arts taster days at The Vale in Tameside in addition to your weekly course where you live. Choose as many of these art forms you would be happy participating in and we will do our best to match you with that activity.
