Calling all performers, producers, crew and workshop leaders…

GG is seeking a team of artists to form our brand new Carnival Bloco, kicking off with a hot season of festivals and events all over the UK this summer!

PLEASE NOTE THIS CALL OUT IS FOR ADVANCED PERFORMERS INTERESTED IN PAID ROLES AS PART OF PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTIONS. WE WOULD CONSIDER SOMEONE AN ADVANCED PERFORMER PERHAPS AS HAVING 10 YEARS+ EXPERIENCE, IN ADDITION TO HIGH LEVEL PLAYING/IMPROVISING SKILLS, POTENTIALLY A BAND LEADER OR FULL TIME MUSICIAN. IF YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER / AMATEUR PERFORMER PLEASE VISIT THE INDIVIDUAL EVENTS FOR CARNIVAL OPPORTUNITIES SUITED TO YOUR LEVEL. THESE CAN BE FOUND IN THE ‘COURSES AND EVENTS SECTION’ OF THE MENU. WE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERYONE.

Primarily we are looking for percussionists, though dancers and puppeteers and producers will also be needed for some events.
The initial rehearsal(s)/development admin is not paid, but we hope to work closely with a small team of artists to develop a regular paid performance group who can get out there on the street and show the world what GG is all about.

Travel expenses will be provided (taking into account the best geographical matches for each event), and we hope you can enjoy these as a chance to represent Global Grooves on tour, whilst working towards joining our professional artist team as regular recipients of future work.

This new job opportunity is also a chance to explore your performance skills, develop new repertoire, get to some brilliant festivals and events this summer for free, as well as help GG develop a brand new performance bloco. This is the perfect time to join the project at the initial stage. Initially we are looking for an expression of interest, and we will get back in touch with you on an individual basis to firm up any potential dates/plans with you based on your availability.

Important: it does require a commitment to any dates you sign up for. You do not need to be able to attend all of the dates, but we would expect at least one rehearsal and attendance at events on the list.

We are also looking for visual arts workshop assistants to attend several events and assist our lead artist team with the delivery of fun and accessible sessions, and help things run smoothly!
