Oxumaré

Standing at an impressive four metres tall, Oxumaré (oh-shoo-mar-ay) shimmers all the colours of the rainbow – and shimmies with the best of them.

From the Candomblé tradition, Oxumaré is an androgynous deity that embodies the rainbow and the snake, symbolising fortune, time and transformation.

Oxumaré is accompanied by a single puppeteer whose gentle handling will get the puppet moving, encouraging your guests to follow suit.

Character-puppet – Iola Weir

  • Add more performers, such as our Journey of the Orixás drummers and dancers (15 to 30-piece performers)
  • If you’d like to see Oxumaré interact with another giant character-puppet, then complement with IOLA – they get on remarkably well!

Add a little shimmer to proceedings…
