Amelia is an arts leader with expertise in cultural innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment. As General Manager of The Vale, home of Global Grooves, she ensures that the organisation’s operations align with creative excellence, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
Innovating for Sustainable Arts Practice
Amelia has been instrumental in integrating sustainability at The Vale, leading eco-friendly initiatives like on-site solar and hydro electricity generation, energy-efficient heating, and promoting sustainable travel. She collaborates with artists, organisations, and communities to ensure that sustainability is a core value in both creative and operational practices.

Amelia prioritises inclusion and collaboration, ensuring Global Grooves connects global traditions with local communities. She champions projects that use creativity as a tool for social change, offering underrepresented voices opportunities to engage with and shape creative initiatives in a safe and open space.
Bridging Arts and Civic Engagement
Outside of Global Grooves, Amelia serves as an elected councillor for Mossley Town Council, advocating for sustainable development and creative local solutions. This dual role enables her to influence both cultural and civic policy, linking arts leadership with community development.

Amelia is also an alumnus of the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Fellowship program and has held various roles at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester Art Gallery, Z-arts, and Contact Theatre, where she gained valuable experience in arts management and fundraising.
