GLOBAL GROOVES AND THE UCLAN WORLDWISE SAMBA DRUMMERS PRESENT….

DRUM, BASS N’ BREAKS FOR THE BATERIA.

This eight week course will focus on modern percussion arrangements drawing upon the lively rhythms and grooves from styles including Samba, ‘Drum n’ Bass’ and ‘Breakbeat’.

Using surdos to create heavy dance bass lines, snares, tamborims, bells and hand drums to create interweaving beats, and cleverly arranged percussion bridges to create that all important tension and release, this course will explore cheeky dance grooves that have stormed the main stage at clubs around the UK for many years.

This course is part of a modular programme delivered as part of Worldwise Samba Drummers main rehearsal sessions, and follows their most recent ‘Samba module’.

As well as enjoying new rhythms and grooves on the course you can also play along with the band’s regular set at the end of each session; then you can join the group for regular performances and events throughout the year.

This course will cater for everyone from complete beginners to the most advanced percussionist. Equipment is provided but we welcome players to bring their own. Please let us know in advance if you will be attending without an instrument so we can arrange one for you.
