A MOSSLEY arts organisation will bring the spirit of Carnival to one of the north’s best-loved music festivals next month.

International Carnival specialist Global Grooves has been tasked with producing the grand finale at Kendal Calling: a super-sized, celebratory parade, featuring over 220 community performers of all ages.

We are offering an opportunity to create new  biodegradable art works for a community event on the 6th April at The Vale and Mossley Heritage Centre. This is a paid opportunity with a commission fee of £5,000 available. 

The event is a celebration day to promote walking to The Vale through our new 'Trails to The Vale' initiative.

It’s not often you get to see behind the scenes of a project like this, but we want to show you some of the magic that happens at our Carnival Centre, The Vale. Here's a little insight into the development of the composition elements at our first music development day.

We're celebrating after being invited to perform in front of a global audience of hundreds of millions. Global Grooves is to be the only creative contributor from northern England to produce a section of the procession for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London next summer.

The pandemic throws plans off course but the participants focus on hope and positivity.

We've done it! We've raised £1m from a variety of different sources, including Arts Council England's Cultural Capital Kickstart fund – and now our ambitious project to redevelop our home can go ahead.

We're delighted that our application to the Government's Culture Recovery Fund has been successful. We're one of 1,385 cultural and creative organisations across the country receiving urgently needed support.

The last few months have been difficult for all of us, and we want nothing more than to gather together our artists and make Carnival for everyone to enjoy.
